An Audiological evaluation is a series of diagnostic procedures used to determine the type, degree, and configuration of hearing loss.
Your hearing care professional will conduct a thorough assessment of your hearing in a sound controlled setting in a sound proof booth. While wearing an earphone at each ear, you will listen to quiet sounds and indicate when you hear each one by pressing a button or raising your hand. You may be asked to repeat words. The instructions will be clear, and the test will be as brief as possible to obtain the necessary information. The test is comfortable. All you have to do is listen and respond.
The goal of this evaluation is to develop a treatment plan that is unique to the patient’s needs in order to improve their communication skills.
The results will be discussed with the patient by Diane Rutkowsky Faulknor. Diane is a New York State Licensed Audiologist.
